The Dating App of College Soccer

In the USA, there are over 1700 universities in various associations, including the largest associations NCAA, NAIA and NJCAA with over 1400 soccer coaches who are specifically looking for international players. German players from the U19 Bundesliga to the men’s district league have the chance to receive a soccer scholarship. However, the hurdle is not primarily sporting performance, but being able to pay expensive agencies to put them in touch with coaches. 

Recruitment of German soccer players

Over 50 German-speaking agencies help players apply for soccer scholarships at US colleges/universities. These agencies provide help with highlight videos, English testing (SAT, Toefl or Duolingo), visa and eligibility procurement, transcript translations and contact with coaches. Our app replaces these services and enables all families, including financially disadvantaged families, to enable their children to study in the USA. Initially targeting male players aged 16-24 in Germany, our vision includes expanding accessibility to female players and in different countries.

SocConnect is dedicated to providing players with autonomy and control over their college soccer journey. Our app safeguards players by allowing them to make informed choices, reducing overall risks in the recruitment process.

The app works like a dating app for contact between US coaches and players. Instructions are replaced by 5 video tutorials and a checklist, similar to agencies. The app is free of charge, there is only a 49€ fee to check the profile (name, pictures, video, statistics, etc.) before contacting the first coach.
